Once more we venture into an old news editor’s views on the news … if you dare. Feel free to tell this old editorial writer how silly he is … he has been called much worse over the years … just leave a comment either on My Facebook page or here in the Random comments section on why I am what you are saying under your breath that I am.

The parable of the butterfly ... a lesson we all should take to heart.

I sometimes wonder what alternate universe Hillary Clinton lives in ... she seems to have no clue ... for a really smart woman ... or maybe she really is a stupid as her actions lately are making her out to be and we just have been misled all these years.

I can't believe she thinks she is so Teflon that she can make jokes like this. Is our leadership and opinion makers so in the tank for her that she really is above the law.

I should hope to shout that Clinton's staff and her sycophant supporters are starting to get nervous ... I am sorry, but military folks get hung out to be drawn and quartered for less things than Hillary has done. You want to talk about fairness? Hillary should be frog-walking into a jail cell about now.

The headline on this article says it all: Is Hillary above the law?

And now the blame shifts to Hillary's staff ... folks, if you still support Hillary Rodham Clinton for president and intend to vote for her ... then there really is no hope for the rule of law in this country.

Insecure ballots - the best system I have seen is the one with the paper ballots where you fill in the space or box and then run it through a mark-sense counting machine. It preserves a paper trail ... but counts much faster than by hand.

Two points for Mr. Bill Gates for funding stuff like this ... it is a good use of all that money he has laying around (he really doesn't but he does have some) ... and the technology is something they have been researching for spaceflight for decades.

Cuban-US relations - The irony is the hubris of the American officials quoted in this story.

This article is penned by an African-American Mainer ... admittedly probably the "whitest" of the 50 states. I am now a Mainer (not really, because I always will be identified as being from "away" by the soft Southern drawl I picked up after living in the South for 30 years) but I find her story severely lacking in a point. What is it she really wants? Does she want to be an American, or just a Black in America. There is a difference you know. There also comes a time when those who want to be Black in America, with their own separate and distinct racial (or should I say racist) culture, need to realize they are proving to be their own worst enemy. They can't accept that a) ALL LIVES MATTER, not just African-American ones; and b) the greatest victim of black crime done by black criminals is the black community.  No, I don't buy her progressive mantra that racial equity equals economic equality ... my white privilege didn't do me a whole hell of a lot of good ... but then I worked for a living, tried desperately to uphold the rule of law that saw all Americans equal before it, and spent a lifetime scratching out an existence ... it has not been a perfect system, but it really is a whole heck of lot better than when I was watching Dr. King live on TV.

The sad thing is that some people will take this as gospel ... but then that would be the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent Americans acting here ...

It sounds like that new federal consumer protection bureaucracy ain't working out as advertised.

The more I read this article, the more puzzled I became ... like, what was the author expecting the loyal opposition to do when it isn't in the White House .... go in a cave and hibernate ... or maybe curl up and die so their institutional experience is no longer of use to a new generation of party leaders.

As expected, Sen. Marco Rubio, a descendent of Cuban refugees, condemned the opening of the US Embassy in Havana ... especially since no Cuban dissidents were invited or allowed.

The case against Obama's Clean Power Plan in a nutshell ... unfortunately, nobody's really listening.

Interesting viewpoint on Straight Outa Compton from the BBC

Volcanoes ... they are a variable in the climate change equation that I suspect that are rarely factored in. The one in Peru has the potention of pouring tons of ash into the stratosphere.

And then I am going to leave you with a smile ... this is known in our family here in Maine as going puppy crazy ... Our Jasper has frequent attacks the manifest themselves in different situations ... usually involving bodies of water or hose streams.
