Another day in the slot – as I used to say when I was a news editor – getting to pick and choose stories … in this case to comment on as I go along. You, of course, are quite welcome to disagree with my commentary and I encourage you to do so. With that said, I move on to today’s set of articles:

This is a veritable mountain out of a molehill. But then the NFL has become a huge entity unto itself and makes its own rules.

While logical, methinks the State Department has gone judge-shopping in hopes of getting a sympathetic ear. Granted, trying to answer to 17 different federal judges is a bit of a problematic situation, but then ... who got them in this mess to begin with? Oh, the Secretary herself. I love how they are pleading poverty with an administration that won't accept the results of Congressional efforts to lift sequestration.

Me thinks that Iran signed a different deal than what Obama and Kerry say the US signed.

More rhetoric from the Iranians that leads me to think that the Iranian Nuclear Deal doesn't quite mean what John Kerry and President Obama say it means.

For those who think that African-Americans cannot be racist ... well, this guy pretty well proves how wrong you are. Now the question is what do we do about it? It is obvious that the approach advocated by the President and successive attorneys general is not helping matters ... so I am welcome to suggestions.

Well, at least some experts are saying that progressives policies are at fault for the various massive migrations currently underway ... which, as we have seen in the US and the Europeans are now experiencing, can be very chaotic and disruptive.

A welcome call for civility from Armstrong Williams ... we all need to step back and take a deep breath, before we all start arming ourselves for the uncivil society we seem to be sliding into.

Just in case you were interested in where Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton stand on a host of issues, this provides you with a concise viewpoint.

This same argument holds true for the Kentucky Clerk of Court refusing to sign marriage licenses for gay couples.

So, Donald Trump agrees not to pull a Perot ... good for him ... now, more people will have to take him seriously

IF CONVICTED, then the death penalty is appropriate in this case of multiple homicides with malice

Market turmoil continues, with the stock averages running up and down but ending slightly up. I suspect the ride will continue.

Unfortunately, for Ms. Davis, this is the price you pay for following your conscience instead of the law.  Honestly, the judge had no other choice. Now is the law an ass (as some political wag once said)? Well, yes it is, and I think the hecklers and other jerks out there do little to engender any sympathy from me. Sound far too much like a lynch mob.

More on the Tom Brady foofaraw ... as I said ... a mountain out of a molehill ... or as Pappy used to say: A tempest in a teapot.

Interesting article on time ... and the possibilities of time travel

I am not sure I agree with Mike Huckabee's interpretation. What the SCOTUS said that because of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment, that when the word marriage was used in any law, that definition had to include at least same-sex couples. Which leaves open the question about polygamous unions or polyamorous unions, or any other types of coupling that people might dream up. The court's decision, as I understood it, really was limited to defining what was meant in any law under the US Constitution that used the word marriage.

And those who say Democrats (and Republicans) don't march in lockstep to those who they identify as their party leaders need to look at the flip side of these graphs.

Now, if this doesn't muddy the waters, nothing does. Not to say that this person is guilty of something, but at least he thinks he is in some legal jeopardy if he testifies. Not a good impression to leave.

Valid point in this piece, but one I suspect that President Obama is not going to do

I imagine the ISIS fighters are using whatever weapons their logistical train can support

As long as the Ranger School doesn't alter any standards, then have at it

Don't expect this president to understand that sometimes allocating resources now to unglamorous things is necessary

Nice dream ... but I suspect that corruption, greed and lusts for power will negate any community based efforts and geopolitical concerns will cancel out real global cooperation.

Obviously, these people just like to ignore the bell curve. You see, back in the day when less people took the SATs, they were clustered from the group at the top end of the scale ... but as more people took the test, the test takers got lower and lower on the curve scale ... it shouldn't be surprising and no reason to dumb down the test ... which is what they are doing, but won't admit it.

Apparently the UAE Ambassador is an up and coming mover and shaker in Washington ... which disturbs the progressives at Huff Po

This commentary illustrates where I and progressives part company ... the author is correct in pretty much all particulars, particularly the role of the individual.

Mr.Hansen ...let me let you in on a little secret ... I already am tired to the point of exhaustion with Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Now, let's all run out and panic ... NOT ... there is nothing wrong with China doing this, as long as they stay in international waters ... we do it all the time in waters around the globe.

Interesting article on the stresses on the Schengen Agreement which opened Europe's borders much like US state borders are open.

I post this, once again, to illustrate WaPo bias. Let me tell you something you may not believe, but House and Senate Democrats don't have to sign anything, they KNOW what happens when they don't toe the party line ... and that, folks, is politics or at least how it is done in the US. So to pillory some Republicans for signing some agenda as being under outside influence instead of their constituents, is the pot calling the kettle black.

One wonders why Al Jazzera is pushing Europe to accept refugees from the Middle East, Southwest Asia and Africa ... to me the better solution would be to push for an end of the stupid fighting and sectarian and ethnic violence that is ruining the places these people are fleeing.

Interesting allegory ... but then life is like that ...

There is an interesting figure in this story that leapt out at me: 2,000 House and Senate Democratic staffers were invited to view the set of videos about Planned Parenthood. Now, that, to me, is an awful lot of staffers (and I doubt very seriously that included all of them, even for just the Democrats). But the story makes a point that we should never forget: It is the staff who really run things on Capitol Hill, not the elected people.

Unfortunately for Huff Po, at least one of these points is total bull shit. But then, if Huff Po says it didn't happen, then it didn't happen.

But then again, I guess Huff Po wasn't watching or listening to these reports.

Unfortunately, the left scores another hit on the rule of law ... by ignoring the law

I will let this one about Taylor Swift speak for itself .... :)

Another study that challenges the current hysteria about climate change as being promoted by President Obama.
