You know things are bad with reporting, when the reporter can’t even quote another article correctly.
Problem: Everyone suspects that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons.
Unfortunately for Iran’s opponents, the Iranian regime has been playing its cards very close to its chest and consistently denying that its uranium enrichment efforts are for anything other than merely for medical research and developing fuel for export and its own nuclear reactors.
The above Iranian position paper does not, as reported by the people at Brietbart.com, say that the Iranians are building nuclear weapons … at least according to the linked story in Times of Israel, which apparently got a copy of the paper, already translated into poor English.
Now, it would not be all that politic to go into the provenance of such a document, but just going on what was reported in the Israeli newspaper, it would seem the talking points reinforce the idea that Iran’s leadership wants not only to continue but expand to addition sites its uranium enrichment efforts. This makes sense for the embattled regime … more sites mean more targets, more targets mean more difficulties for any action against the enrichment efforts by military means.
I, for one, have no doubt the Iranians are trying to build their own nuclear arsenal. I have no doubt that the Iranians are doing everything that can to obfuscate that effort and stall for time for it to mature.
However, the above article does little to support those doubts.
